Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2601
DTC 2601:
Display Diag: Connect
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- This navigation DTC sets when a mechanical malfunction in the navigation display is detected.
- Check any official Honda service web site for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.
1. Clear the hard error code How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
3. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
4. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
5. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at navigation unit connector B (32P), audio unit connector B (14P), and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P), or XM receiver connector A (14P).
Are the connections OK?
YES -
Go to step 6.
NO -
Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck the Self-Diagnosis Mode Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.�
6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
7. Disconnect the navigation unit connector B (32P) and the navigation display unit 28P connector.
8. Connect the navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals No. 10 and No. 26 with a jumper wire.
9. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 28P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 19.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 10.
NO -
There is an open in the wire between the navigation unit and the navigation display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
10. Disconnect the jumper wire.
11. Disconnect the audio unit connector E (14P), and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P), or XM receiver connector A (14P), USB adapter control unit connector A (14P), and HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.
12. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 28P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 19, and between terminals No. 3 and No. 17.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 13.
13. Check for continuity between body ground and navigation display unit 28P connector terminals No. 3, No. 5, No. 17, and No. 19 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation display unit and the navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 14.
14. Check for continuity between the terminals of navigation display unit 28P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short in the wire(s) between the navigation display unit and the navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 15.
15. Reconnect the all connectors, then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
16. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
17. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 18.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
18. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
19. Disconnect the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) or the XM receiver connector A (14P).
20. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
21. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
22. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 23.
NO -
Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) AcuraLink Control Unit-XM Receiver Removal/Installationor the XM receiver XM Receiver Removal/Installation.�
23. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
24. Disconnect the USB adapter control unit connector A (14P).
25. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
26. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
27. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 28.
NO -
Replace the USB adapter control unit USB Adapter Unit Replacement.
28. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
29. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.
30. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
31. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
32. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 33.
NO -
Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.�
33. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
34. Substitute a known-good navigation display unit Service and Repair.�
35. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
36. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
37. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Replace the audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation System).
NO -
Replace the navigation display unit Service and Repair.�
