Headliner Replacement (Rendezvous)

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover


Removal Procedure

1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
2. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Console Replacement - Overhead (Rendezvous) (Console Replacement - Overhead)Console Replacement - Overhead (Aztek) (Console Replacement - Overhead) .
3. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) .
4. Remove the assist handle and rear coat hook. Refer toAssist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Aztek) (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement)Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Rendezvous) (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement) .
5. Remove the rear coat hook. Refer toCoat Hook Replacement (Rendezvous) (Coat Hook Replacement) .
6. Remove the assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Aztek) (Assist Handle Replacement)Assist Handle Replacement (Rendezvous) (Assist Handle Replacement) .
7. Remove the upper center trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar (Service and Repair) .
8. Remove the body side rear upper garnish molding.
9. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) .
10. Remove the cargo lamp. Refer to Cargo Lamp Replacement .




11. Use J 38778 in order to remove the rear headliner push-in retainers.
12. Remove the headliner from the roof through the rear of the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the headliner to the roof through the rear of the vehicle.
2. Push the headliner rearwards in order to lock the headliner into place.




3. Install the rear headliner push-in retainers.
4. Install the cargo lamp. Refer to Cargo Lamp Replacement .
5. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper (Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper) .
6. Install the body side rear upper garnish molding.
7. Install the upper center pillar trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Aztek) (Assist Handle Replacement)Assist Handle Replacement (Rendezvous) (Assist Handle Replacement) .
9. Install the assist handle and rear coat hook. Refer toAssist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Aztek) (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement)Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Rendezvous) (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement) .
10. Install the rear coat hook. Refer toCoat Hook Replacement (Rendezvous) (Coat Hook Replacement) .
11. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement) .
12. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
