Some 1985-88 Celebrity and Cavalier wagons, with power tailgate releases, may experience a condition where the tailgate will not fully unlock from the remote release.
To repair this condition a new latch assembly, incorporating a stronger spring, has been released. Part number 16604546 is available through GMSPO. Vehicles built after January 1988 will incorporate the new latch assembly.
