System Bleeding










1. Loosen clutch master cylinder nuts to end of threads on U-bolt, then clear dirt and grease from reservoir car.

2. Remove reservoir cap and diaphragm, then wrap a piece of mechanics wire around lefthand hood strut bracket ensuring wire is accessible from underside of vehicle.

3. Raise and support vehicle, then remove actuator cylinder and retain in engine compartment using mechanics wire previously installed.

4. Lower vehicle, then grasp actuator cylinder and depress pushrod approximately 0.787 inch (20 mm) into cylinder bore and hold.

5. Install diaphragm and reservoir cap while holding in actuator push rod, then release actuator push rod.

6. Hold actuator cylinder vertically with push rod facing down, then press pushrod into actuator cylinder bore with short 0.390 inch (10 mm) strokes while inspecting master cylinder reservoir for air bubbles. Actuator cylinder must be lower than master cylinder.

7. Continue stroking cylinder until air bubbles are no longer entering reservoir, then raise and support vehicle.

8. Remove actuator cylinder from mechanics wire, then install actuator cylinder and tighten to specifications.

9. Lower vehicle, then remove mechanics wire from lefthand hood strut bracket.

10. Install clutch master cylinder nuts and torque to 20 ft. lbs., then inspect fluid level, adding fluid if necessary.
