Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

Note: If the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is installed backwards, the system will go rich. An arrow cast into the plastic portion of the sensor indicates proper air flow direction. The arrow must point toward the engine.

1. Release the fasteners located at the front of the air cleaner duct assembly.
2. Remove the air cleaner element from the air cleaner duct assembly.

Installation Procedure

Note: Verity that the radiator air deflector is in position before installing an air cleaner assembly. Improper installation may allow water intrusion which could damage the engine.

1. Install a new air cleaner element into the air cleaner assembly.
2. Position and lock the fasteners located at the front of the air cleaner duct assembly.
