Rear

SPRING

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.





3. Remove the control arm cover by removing the bolts (1) from the cover.





4. Remove the lower shock bolts (2) from the lower control arm.





5. Brace the rear suspension lower control arm with a suitable lifting device. Raise the control arm until the half shaft is horizontal. Using Special Tool 9152 Compressor Plates and 9150 Spring Compressor (1) compress the rear spring.





6. Remove the rear bolts on the lower control arm (4) attaching it to the frame. Remove the lifting device.





7. Swing the lower control arm (2) down away from the mounting tabs (1) to release the rear spring.
8. Remove the spring from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the spring.





2. Swing the lower control arm (2) up and install the bolt attaching it to the frame (1).





3. Unclamp the spring (1) making sure the spring properly matches the spring perch detents.





4. Install the lower shock mount (1) to the lower control arm. Tighten to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).





5. Install the control arm cover and bolts (1).
6. Install the wheel and tire assembly.
7. Check vehicle alignment.
