Pressure Hose - 2.4L

NOTE: Before proceeding, Service Precautions.

1. Siphon as much fluid as possible from the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Service and Repair




3. LHD - Back out the tube nut securing the pressure hose (4) to the gear. Pull the hose tube out of the gear and drain the fluid from the hose.




4. RHD - Back out the tube nut (2) securing the pressure hose (3) to the gear (5). Pull the hose tube out of the gear and drain the fluid from the hose.




5. Remove the bolts (2) securing the pressure hose (1) routing clamps to the engine's structural collar.




6. Remove the bolt securing the pressure hose (2) routing clamp to the front of the engine near the starter.




7. Remove the wheel mounting nuts (3), then the right front tire and wheel assembly (1).




8. Remove the one fastener (2) securing the wheel house splash shield (1) to the drive belt splash shield (3).




NOTE: Depending on application, it may be necessary to remove some fasteners securing the front fascia (1) to the body lower reinforcement in order to access drive belt splash shield forward fastener.

9. Remove the fastener (5) securing the drive belt splash shield (3) to the front suspension crossmember (6).
10. Remove the fasteners (4) securing the splash shield (3) to the body (2).
11. Remove the drive belt splash shield (3).
12. Remove the accessory drive-belt from the A/C compressor and power steering pump. Accessory Drive Belt - Removal




13. Disconnect the wiring connectors from the A/C compressor (1).
14. Remove the four bolts fastening the A/C compressor (1) to the engine, then move the compressor toward the center of the vehicle, allowing the compressor to settle in place.




15. From below, place a crowfoot wrench on a long extension onto the pressure hose tube nut (3) at the pump.
16. Place a shop towel between the crowfoot and the pump pulley (1) to avoid slipping and possibly damaging the pulley.




17. Unthread the tube nut from the pump (1).
18. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.
