Subject: Emissions Recall # 262T Carburetor Bowl Vent Adjustment

Models: 1984 Through 1987 Model Year Full Size Ram Vans, Ram Wagons, Ram Trucks and Ramchargers With 5.2L Federal Sea Level Engines

Note: Federal High Altitude and California Engines are equipped with an electric bowl vent and are not affected.


The subject vehicles may emit evaporative emissions in excess of the Federal Emissions Standards. To ensure compliance to the Standards, the carburetor bowl vent must be inspected and adjusted as required.

Details of this service action are explained in the following sections. As an additional service aid, a videotape has been made to demonstrate the service procedure. This feature is included in the March, 1989 MTSC program.
