Oil Pump Replacement

Fig. 33 Aligning Oil Pump Gear Timing Marks:

1. Remove timing case as outlined, refer to TIMING CASE.
2. Remove oil pump cover, then drive and driven gears from front case.
3. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate oil pump internal components with engine oil prior to installation.
b. Align drive and driven gear timing marks as shown.
c. Ensure oil pump gears rotate smoothly.
