Sliding Door Latch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove sliding door trim panel.
2. Remove water shield.
3. Remove sliding door stop bumper.

Sliding Door Latch/Lock Control Linkage:

4. With sliding door ajar, disengage clip holding latch release link to latch/lock control.
5. Separate link from control.
6. Disengage clip holding outside door handle link to latch/lock control.
7. Disengage clip holding inside door handle cable end to latch/lock control.
8. Disengage tabs holding inside door handle cable case to latch/lock control.
9. Disengage clip holding lock cylinder link to latch/lock control.
10. Separate lock cylinder link from control.
11. Disengage lock tabs holding hold open latch cable case to latch/lock control.
12. Separate hold open latch cable ball end from latch/lock control.

Sliding Door Latch/Lock Control:

13. Loosen bolts holding latch/lock control to sliding door.
14. If equipped, disengage wire connector from power door lock motor.
15. Separate latch/lock from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Place latch/lock in position on vehicle.
2. If equipped, engage wire connector into power door lock motor.

Sliding Door Latch/Lock Control:

3. Insert bolt heads into slots in sliding door inner panel.
4. Tighten bolts to hold latch/lock control to sliding door.

Sliding Door Latch/Lock Control Linkage:

5. Engage hold open latch cable ball end into latch/lock control.
6. Engage lock tabs to hold hold open latch cable case to latch/lock control.
7. Insert lock cylinder link into control.
8. Engage clip to hold lock cylinder link to latch/ lock control.
9. Engage tabs to hold inside door handle cable case to latch/lock control.

Sliding Door Latch/Lock Control Linkage:

10. Lift clip for inside door handle cable to top of slot in mechanism.
11. Engage clip to holding inside door handle able end to latch/lock control.

Sliding Door Latch/Lock Control Linkage:

12. Lower clip for outside door handle link to bottom of slot in mechanism.
13. Engage clip to hold outside door handle link & latch/lock control.
14. Place latch link in position on control.
15. Engage clip to hold latch release link to latch/lock control.
16. Install sliding door stop bumper.
17. Verify sliding door operation.
18. Install water shield.
19. Install sliding door trim panel.
