Clutch Component Lubrication

Proper clutch component lubrication is important to satisfactory operation. Using the correct lubricant, but avoid using an excessive amount.

During service, apply recommended lubricant sparingly. Excessive lubricant could result in clutch disc and clutch cover (pressure plate) contamination.

Clutch components requiring lubrication are the splines in the clutch disc hub and clutch pedal pivot bore and bushings. Transmission components requiring lubrication are the input shaft splines and the release bearing slide surface of the front bearing retainer. Do not apply grease to any part of the clutch cover, disc or release bearing.

Use Mopar multipurpose grease or a silicone grease for the clutch pedal bushings and pivot shaft. Use Mopar High Temperature Wheel Bearing Grease or equivalent for all other clutch lubrication requirements. Apply recommended amounts only.
