B2292
B2292-ELECTRONIC AIR CONDITIONING (EAC) INTERNAL
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.
Theory of Operation
This DTC will set if there is a loss of communication between the Front A/C Heater Control Module and the Electric A/C Compressor (EAC).
- When Monitored:
Continuously when the ignition is on.
12-volt battery voltage between 10 and 16 volts.
Ignition Off Draw (IOD) fuse installed.
Front Control Module (FCM) is configured correctly.
- Set Condition:
Bus messages not received from the Electric A/C Compressor (EAC) for the period of ten seconds.
1. VERIFY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) IS ACTIVE
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury
NOTE: Make sure the IOD fuse is installed and 12-volt battery voltage is between 10 and 16 volts before proceeding.
NOTE: DTCs cannot be erased with the HEV vehicle in READY mode.
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read HVAC DTCs.
Is this DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Stored Lost Communication DTCs Perform the Stored Lost Communication DTC diagnostic procedure.
2. CHECK FOR FRONT CONTROL MODULE DTCS
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using the scan tool, read FCM DTCs.
Are there any FCM Communication DTCs preset?
Yes
- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- Check for proper Low Voltage harness connection at the EAC, FCM, and Front A/C Heater Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK FOR ELECTRIC A/C COMPRESSOR DTCS
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using the scan tool, read EAC DTCs.
Are there any EAC Communication DTCs preset?
Yes
- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- Go To 4
4. CHECK FOR OTHER MODULES REPORTING A LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE EAC OR HVAC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is any other module reporting a loss of Communication with the EAC or the HVAC?
Yes
- Go to DTC Based Diagnostics and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- Check the Low Voltage harness connections at the EAC, FCM, and Front A/C Heater Control Module. If no problems are found, replace and program the Front A/C Heater Control.
- Perform HVAC VERIFICATION TEST HVAC Verification Test.
