Rear

REMOVAL

WARNING: Refer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation Warning and Caution . Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: Illustrations shown with rear exhaust and exhaust shield removed for clarity.





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Recovery.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the nut (1) that secures the underbody refrigerant lines (3) to the rear A/C expansion valve (2).
5. Disconnect the rear underbody refrigerant lines from the rear A/C expansion valve, remove and discard the O-ring seals and carefully position the underbody refrigerant lines out of the way.





6. Remove the two bolts (1) that secure the rear A/C expansion valve (2) to the rear A/C evaporator.
7. Remove the rear A/C expansion valve and remove and discard the O-ring seals from the rear evaporator tubes.
8. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened underbody refrigerant lines, rear evaporator tubes and all rear expansion valve ports.
