1. Position the generator (2) into the mounting bracket and install the two retaining bolts (1,3) and tighten the bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the support bracket (2) to the front of the generator and install the bolt and nuts (3) and tighten the bolt and nuts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the field wire electrical connector into the generator (3).
4. Connect the B+ terminal eyelet onto the generator output stud and install the retaining nut (2) and tighten the nut to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.).
5. Snap the plastic insulator cap onto the B+ output terminal (1).
CAUTION: Never force a belt over a pulley rim using a screwdriver. The synthetic fiber of the belt can be damaged.
CAUTION: When installing a serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt must be routed correctly. The water pump may be rotating in the wrong direction if the belt is installed incorrectly, causing the engine to overheat. Refer to belt routing label in engine compartment, or Refer to the Belt Schematics in Cooling System.
CAUTION: Do not let the tensioner arm snap back to the freearm position, severe damage may occur to the tensioner.
6. Insert a suitable square drive ratchet into the square hole on the belt tensioner arm (7).
7. Rotate the tensioner (7) clockwise until the accessory drive belt (4) can be install onto the generator pulley Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation
8. Connect the negative battery cable (1).
