THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES SERVICE BULLETIN 07-002-11, DATED AUGUST 13,
2011, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE
HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND INCLUDES MORE SPECIFIC STEPS FOR
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES.

SUBJECT:
Transmission Cooler Hose Weepage

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting the upper transmission cooler hose for a specific date code and time stamp. If found within the suspect range, the transmission cooler hose must be replaced.

MODELS:

2011 DJ/D2 Ram 2500/3500 Pickup

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with the 6.7L engine (Sales Code ETJ) and an automatic transmission (Sales Code DG7) built between September 20, 2010 (MDH 0920XX) and January 17, 2011 (MDH 0117XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some of the above listed vehicles have been built with a transmission cooler hose that may experience fluid weepage.

DIAGNOSIS:

1. If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, continue onto the next step. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

2. Open the hood.





3. Inspect the upper transmission cooler hose (Fig. 1) ("Hot side line that runs near the battery) for Date Code 2440 (Fig. 2). If the upper transmission cooler hose has Date Code 2440 on the hose, verify whether or not the hose was built between 21:47 - 23:16 (Time Stamp).

NOTE:
The date code may be on the lower side of the hose. It may be necessary to use a mirror or rotate the hose.

NOTE:
Figure 2 represents a hose built on the suspect date however, it was built prior to the suspect time range.

4. Is the transmission cooler hose Date Code is 2440 and was built between 21:47 - 23:16?

a. YES >>> Perform the Repair Procedure.

b. NO >>> Return the vehicle to the customer.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. **Remove the three fasteners that attach the fuel filter assembly onto the engine.

NOTE:
Do not remove any of the fuel lines or wiring connections.

2. Remove the Transmission Oil Cooler (TOC) lines upper P clip fastener.

3. Disconnect both TOC lines from the transmission oil cooler assembly.

4. Raise vehicle on a hoist.

5. Remove the TOC lower P clip fastener.

6. Disconnect both TOC lines from the transmission and remove the transmission line bundle from the vehicle.

7. Separate the TOC return and supply lines from the retaining P clips.

8. Install the new TOC line (p/n 55056951AC) into the TOC line bundle securing the assembly with the two P clips.

9. Connect the TOC lines to the transmission.

10. Attach the TOC lower P clip fastener.

11. Lower vehicle.

12. Connect the TOC lines to the transmission oil cooler assembly.

13. Attach the TOC lines upper P clip fastener.

14. Attach the three fasteners that attach the fuel filter assembly onto the engine. Tighten bolts to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).

15. Start engine and inspect for leaks.

16. Adjust the level of transmission fluid if necessary and erase all DTC's that may be stored in the PCM.**
