Excitor Ring Removal

NOTE: While E-150 vehicles are NOT equipped with an excitor ring, the ring gears are removed the same as shown here.

Excitor Ring Removal:

On vehicles equipped with an excitor ring, first remove the ring gear bolts. As shown above remove ring gear by striking at alternate holes around the gear.

NOTE: The ring gear can be removed and installed without removing the excitor ring.

Remove the excitor ring with a soft faced hammer. Discard excitor ring.
