Special Field Action 94L05 - Warranty Information Booklets for Certain 1994 Model California 1994 Model California 4.0L Engine Equipped Explorer and Ranger Trucks
Affected Vehicles
Approximately 26,000 1994 Model California 4.0L engine Explorer and Ranger trucks manufactured at the Edison, Louisville and twin Cities Assembly Plants from Job # 1 through January 31, 1994.
Reasons for This Action
Warranty Information Booklets placed in the affected trucks did not include the transducer assembly (base part number - 12K073-) in the 7-Year / 70,000 - Mile warranty listing of emissions related parts. California regulations require manufacturers to furnish this listing with each vehicle.
Service Action
Owners of the affected trucks will be mailed revised pages with instructions to attach the pages over the existing pages in their truck's Warranty Information Booklets.
Page Ordering Instructions
Owners should have the page if they return their trucks for service. If an owner returns without a page, order the page through the Vehicle Information and Warning Replacement label program announced in June, 1993.
OASIS
OASIS will not be activated for this service.
Claims
Claims will be paid for labor and costs for obtaining a page through the Vehicle Information and Warning Replacement Label program (if any costs are incurred) when owners return for service.
