Pinpoint Test A - Shift SolenoidsDTC List: P0750, P0755, P0760 - Solenoid Circuit Failures
P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734 - Gear Errors Indicated
P0751, P0756, P0761, P1751, P1756, P1761 - Solenoid Function Failures
NOTE: This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the shift solenoid electrical system only. To prevent replacement of good components, be aware that the following areas may be at fault:
Engine - Performance, Cooling, Brakes
Electrical - Battery, Input Sensors, Wiring Harnesses
Transmission - Internal Components, Linkages, Cooling
Internal Harness Diagram:
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following components:
Transmission wiring harness, 881,882,883, VPWR
Powertrain control module (PCM) - 12A650
Solenoid Operation Chart - 4R44E/4R55E:
The chart shows normal solenoid operation for given operating modes.
Shift Solenoid Failure Mode Charts
NOTE: 2nd and 4th gear in O/D position can only be obtained with sufficient EPC pressure (i.e. no short in EPC circuit can be present).
Shift Solenoid Failure "Always Off"
SS1:
SS2:
SS3:
Shift Solenoid failed in the OFF mode due to PCM and/or vehicle wiring concerns; solenoid electrically or mechanically stuck in the OFF mode.
Shift Solenoid Failure "Always On"
SS1 Always On:
SS2 Always On:
SS3 Always On:
SS3 Always On:
Failed ON due to powertrain control module and/or vehicle wiring concerns; solenoid electrically or mechanically stuck ON.
NOTE: 2nd and 4th gear in O/D position can only be obtained with sufficient EPC pressure (ie., no short in EPC circuit can be present).
