LAMP - HEADLAMP ALIGNMENT ON INCOMPLETE
VEHICLES - SERVICE TIP

LIGHT TRUCK:
1998 ECONOLINE

ISSUE

Headlamp aim has not been adjusted on incomplete vehicles.

ACTION

After build-up of incomplete vehicles, aim headlamps of completed vehicles to factory specification. Factory specification should resolve any headlamp aim issues. Refer to the following text for details.

Proper headlamp aim is set at the plant. If modifications by the final stage manufacturer cause the vehicle height to change, resulting in incorrect headlamp aim, it is the responsibility of the final stage manufacturer or modifier to follow proper procedures as described in the 1998 Econoline Workshop Manual to ensure that headlamp aim is reset to OEM specification with cost being the responsibility of the final stage manufacturer or modifier.

Final stage manufacturers are responsible for adjusting headlamps as necessary to ensure headlamp aim is within specification at time of delivery to the dealer/customer.
