Outboard Tapping Plate

1. If the seat and front seat track was not previously removed, remove the seat and front seat track.
2. Remove front seat back latch handle bezel.
3. Remove and save the two screws used to retain the front seat back latch to the front seat cushion frame and spring. Remove and discard the shoulder screw used to retain the front seat back frame to the front seat cushion frame and spring at the inboard pivot.
4. In the outboard side of the front seat cushion frame and spring, remove the front seat track.
5. Disengage the front seat cushion cover as required to gain access to the tapping plate.







6. Drill out the stripped or deformed hole(s) in the tapping plate using a letter "X" 10 mm drill bit.
7. Install the front seat cushion cover.
8. Install the front seat track to the front seat cushion frame and spring. Tighten the retaining screws to 17-23 Nm (13-16 lb-ft).
9. Obtain the following parts:
- N801715-S2-Screw-M10 x 1.50 x 45.0 Water Hd. Shld. Tap, one per seat
- N620482-S2-Nut-M10 x 1.50, one per seat.
Position the front seat back frame to the front seat cushion frame and spring. Install the two new screws at the outboard attachments. For the previously drilled tapping plate hole(s), install a nut on the screw. Tighten the screws to 47-63 Nm (35-46 lb-ft). Install the removed inboard pivot bolt. Tighten the bolt to 19-27 Nm (14-19 lb-ft).
10. Install the front seat back latch handle bezel.
11. Install the seat and front seat track.
12. Check the front seat track for proper operation.
13. Check the restraint system for proper operation.
