Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Remove the hood latch. For additional information, refer to Hood Latch.







3. Remove the pin-type retainers.
4. Position the air deflector aside to reveal the hood latch release cable guide.







5. Remove the hood latch release cable guide.







6. Remove the remaining hood latch release cable guides.
7. Remove the powertrain control module (PCM); for additional information, refer to Computers and Control Systems.







8. Remove the nuts.
9. Lower the hood latch release/park brake bracket from the vehicle.
10. Remove the hood latch release cable from the handle.
^ Release the cable conduit.
^ Remove the cable.
11. Remove the hood latch release cable and dash panel grommet through the front of the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
