ISSUE
Some vehicles upon closing the rear power window may exhibit a window bounce back to the fully: open position. The condition will typically occur when the window is almost to the top of the fully closed position.
ACTION
The updated Service Motor (1L5Z-7823394-BA) should only be installed it bounce back condition is verified, and replacement is directed per the following service procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
NOTE
IF MOTOR REPLACEMENT IS NECESSARY, DO NOT REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR.
1. Inspect for damage to side run channels, especially near the reversal point.
2. With the power rear window glass down, loosen the two (2) glass attachment bolts.
3. With the bolts loose but still attached, operate the power rear window up/down twice.
4. Retighten the bolts to 11 N.m (8 lb-ft).
5. Apply Krytox grease (164-R4906) from Rotunda Squeak & Rattle Kit (164-R4900) to the glass runs and regulator rails and initialize the power rear window. Refer to Quick Initialization Guide Figures 1-10.
6. Cycle the power rear window up and down 15-20 times to work in Krytox.
7. Re-initialize the power rear window motor. Refer to Quick Initialization Guide Figures 1-10.
8. Verify repair. Repeat Steps 2-7 if necessary.
9. If the condition is still present after following this procedure TWICE, then replace the power rear window motor with the updated service motor (1L5Z-7823394-BA), re-initialize (refer to Quick Initialization Guide Figures 1-10), and verify the repair.
