Shift Cable: Adjustments

Gearshift Cable Adjustment - Vehicles With: MTX-75/Manual Transaxle

Special Tool:

1. Move the gearshift mechanism into neutral.
- Make sure that the gearshift and selector levers are in vertical position on the transaxle (gearshift and selector cables not shown).
2. Raise the vehicle.






3. Press in as indicated to unlock the adjustment mechanism on the shift and selector cables.
4. Lower vehicle.






5. Detach the gearshift lever boot and trim panel from the floor console.






6. Using the special tool, lock the gearshift mechanism.
1. Pull the reverse gear release.
2. Install the special tool.
7. Raise the vehicle.






8. Lock the adjustment mechanism on the gearshift and selector cables.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Remove the special tool and attach the gearshift lever boot and trim panel to the floor console.
