Seat Track-Bucket and 40 Percent Bench

REMOVAL

WARNING:
^ ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN REPAIRING AN AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) VEHICLE AND WHEN HANDLING AN AIR BAG MODULE. THIS WILL REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT.
^ AFTER DEPLOYMENT, THE AIR BAG SURFACE CAN CONTAIN DEPOSITS OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE, A PRODUCT OF THE GAS GENERANT COMBUSTION THAT IS IRRITATING TO THE SKIN. WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER AFTERWARDS.
^ NEVER PROBE THE CONNECTORS ON THE AIR BAG MODULE. DOING SO CAN RESULT IN AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, WHICH CAN RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.


NOTE: The passenger seat is shown, the driver seat is similar.

Vehicles with safety belt buckle pretensioners
1. Prepare the vehicle for seat track removal.
1 Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING: TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE REPAIRING OR REPLACING ANY FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) COMPONENTS AND BEFORE SERVICING, REPLACING, ADJUSTING OR STRIKING COMPONENTS NEAR THE FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAG SENSORS, SUCH AS DOORS, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CONSOLE, DOOR LATCHES, STRIKERS, SEATS AND HOOD LATCHES.

PLEASE REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE VEHICLE SHOP MANUAL TO DETERMINE LOCATION OF THE FRONT AIR BAG SENSORS.

THE SIDE AIR BAG SENSORS ARE LOCATED AT OR NEAR THE BASE OF THE B-PILLAR.

TO DEPLETE THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT AUXILIARY BATTERIES AND POWER SUPPLIES (IF EQUIPPED).


2 Deactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS).

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, NOTES, AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION/REACTIVATION PROCEDURE.

3 Remove the affected seat.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, NOTES, AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE.

4 Remove the safety belt buckle and pretensioner.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, NOTES, AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SAFETY BELT BUCKLE AND PRETENSIONER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE.

5 Remove the front seat backrest.

2. Prepare the vehicle for seat track removal.
1 Remove the affected seat.

2 Remove the front seat backrest.

All vehicles







3. Remove the spring.







4. Remove the spring clip and the recliner handle.







5. Remove the push nuts.







6. Remove the seat track adjustment lever.
^ Remove one side of the seat track adjustment lever at a time.







7. Detach the seat backrest recliner link cable.







8. Remove the bolts and child safety seat tether anchor.

NOTE:
^ Only the passenger seat is equipped with a child safety seat tether anchor. The driver seat is equipped with a bracket in place of the child safety seat tether anchor.

9. Remove the LH and RH seat tracks as an assembly.

10. Unlatch the plastic locks. Remove the linkage.







11. Remove the two plastic locks.

All vehicles







12. Remove the nut and the outboard recliner.







13. Remove the nut and the inboard recliner.

INSTALLATION

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, AND NOTES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE REMOVAL PROCEDURE.

All vehicles







1. Install the inboard recliner and the nut.







2. Install the outboard recliner and the nut.

SuperCab vehicles







3. Install the two plastic locks.







4. Install the linkage. Latch the plastic locks.

All vehicles
5. Install the LH and RH seat tracks as an assembly.







6. Install the child safety seat tether anchor and the bolts.

NOTE:
^ Only the passenger seat is equipped with a child safety seat tether anchor. The driver seat is equipped with a bracket in place of the child safety seat tether anchor.

7. Install the seat backrest recliner link cable.







8. Install the seat track adjustment lever.
^ Install one side of the seat track adjustment lever at a time.







9. Install the push nuts.







10. Install the spring clip on the recliner handle. Install the recliner handle







11. Install the spring.

12. Restore the vehicle to operating condition.
1 Install the front seat backrest.
2 Install the affected seat.

13. Restore the vehicle to operating condition.
1 Install the front seat backrest.
2 Install the safety belt buckle and pretensioner.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, NOTES, AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SAFETY BELT BUCKLE AND PRETENSIONER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE.

3 Install the affected seat.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, NOTES, AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE.

4 Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING: TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE REPAIRING OR REPLACING ANY FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) COMPONENTS AND BEFORE SERVICING, REPLACING, ADJUSTING OR STRIKING COMPONENTS NEAR THE FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAG SENSORS, SUCH AS DOORS, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CONSOLE, DOOR LATCHES, STRIKERS, SEATS AND HOOD LATCHES.

PLEASE REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE VEHICLE SHOP MANUAL TO DETERMINE LOCATION OF THE FRONT AIR BAG SENSORS.

THE SIDE AIR BAG SENSORS ARE LOCATED AT OR NEAR THE BASE OF THE B-PILLAR.

TO DEPLETE THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT AUXILIARY BATTERIES AND POWER SUPPLIES (IF EQUIPPED).


5 Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS).

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, NOTES, AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS DEACTIVATION/REACTIVATION PROCEDURE.

6 Connect the battery ground cable.
7 With all restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS).

14. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
