ISSUE

Some vehicles may exhibit condensation and/or water accumulation within the fog lamp assembly. If not serviced, the fog lamp could eventually become inoperative. This may be caused by the fog lamp vent-filter becoming contaminated.

ACTION

Remove existing fog lamp vent cap and replace with new service fog lamp vent cap. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Determine if affected fog lamp contains accumulation of water or moisture.

2. If water accumulation is present/visible in bottom of lamp, remove and replace affected fog lamp assembly 1L5Z-15200-CA (right) or 1L5Z-1 5200-DA (left) then proceed to Step 6.

3. If water accumulation is not evident and only moisture is present, remove affected fog lamp vent-filter assembly cap color "light grey". Refer to Figure 1.

4. Turn fog Lamps to "ON" position until moisture has fully evaporated from fog lamp assembly due to the heat from the bulb that is generated. Recommended minimum of 10 minutes of operation.

CAUTION
BULB TEMPERATURE IS VERY HOT.

5. Verify that all moisture has evaporated.

NOTE
BEFORE PROCEEDING TO STEP 6, TURN OFF LAMPS AND LET COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE.

6. Install new vent filter assembly, cap colored "black" (1L5Z-13B216-AA). Refer to Figure 1.

NOTE
