ROUGH IDLE - 5.4L AND 4.6L ENGINES

2004 F-150
ISSUE
Some 2004 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 5.4L 3V or 4.6L engine may exhibit a rough idle condition.
ACTION
Retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) if present, follow appropriate pinpoint test(s) as directed by the PC/ED manual. After repair, or if there were no DTCs present, reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using WDS release B36.2 or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
