Oil Level Indicator and Tube

Removal
All Vehicles
1. Remove the engine air cleaner (ACL) and the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
2. Remove the LH exhaust manifold.

Vehicles with 4.6L engine
3. Remove the nut, the bolt and the oil level indicator and tube.
^ Discard the O-ring seal.

Vehicles with 5.4L engine
4. Remove the nut, the bolt and the oil level indicator and tube.
^ Discard the O-ring seal.

All Vehicles
5. Inspect the oil level indicator tube for damage.

Installation
Vehicles with 4.6L engine

1. NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installation.

Using a new O-ring seal, position the oil level indicator and install the bolt and the nut.
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Vehicles with 5.4L engine

2. NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installation.

Using a new O-ring seal, position the oil level indicator and install the bolt.
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
3. Install the front oil level indicator and tube support bracket nut.
^ Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

All Vehicles
4. Install the LH exhaust manifold.
5. Install the ACL outlet pipe and the ACL. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
