Test C: A Single Mirror Does Not Function With Switch Logic
PINPOINT TEST C: A SINGLE MIRROR DOES NOT FUNCTION WITH SWITCH LOGICC1-C3:
C3-C5:
C6:
Normal Operation
Under normal operation, the exterior mirror control switch uses circuit CPM17 (BU/GN), CPM21 (YE/VT), CPM19 (GY/OG) or CPM15 (VT/OG) to control mirror movement.
- When power is received through circuit CPM17 (BU/GN)/CPM21 (YE/VT) and grounded through CPM23 (GY), LH/RH exterior will operate LEFT.
- When ground is received through circuit CPM17 (BU/GN)/CPM21 (YE/VT) and powered through CPM23 (GY), LH/RH exterior will operate RIGHT.
- When power is received through circuit CPM19 (GY/OG)/CPM15 (VT/OG) and grounded through CPM23 (GY), LH/RH exterior will operate UP.
- When ground is received through circuit CPM19 (GY/OG)/CPM15 (VT/OG) and powered through CPM23 (GY), LH/RH exterior will operate DOWN.
Possible Causes
- An open in circuit CPM19 (GY/OG), CPM15 (VT/OG), CPM17 (BU/GN) or CPM21 (YE/VT) between the exterior mirror control switch and either the LH or RH exterior rear view mirror.
- Inoperative exterior mirror control switch.
- Inoperative exterior mirror motor.
