Test U: The Air Bag Warning Indicator Is Never/Always On

PINPOINT TEST U: THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON

Normal Operation
The instrument cluster (IC) receives the supplemental restraint system (SRS) status from the restraints control module (RCM) over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. The instrument cluster (IC) illuminates the air bag warning indicator upon receipt of a message from the RCM.

- DTC U0151 (Lost Communication With The Restraints Control Module [RCM]) - is a continuous DTC that sets in the instrument cluster (IC) if a missing message from the RCM occurs and the instrument cluster (IC) defaults the air bag warning indicator on.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- RCM
- Instrument cluster (IC)
