Test V: The Anti-Theft Indicator Is Never/Always On
PINPOINT TEST V: THE ANTI-THEFT INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ONNormal Operation
The instrument cluster (IC) controls the passive anti-theft system (PATS) with the PCM and receives the anti-theft key status from the hardwired PATS transceiver. If there is a PATS concern, the instrument cluster (IC) anti-theft indicator either flashes rapidly or glows steadily (for more than 3 seconds) when the ignition switch is turned to the ON or START positions. The PATS also flashes the theft indicator every 2 seconds at ignition OFF to act as a visual theft deterrent.
