Seat Backrest - Second Row, 40 Percent
Removal
1. With the backrest folded down, release the backrest trim cover lower J-clip.
2. Release the 2 backrest trim cover inside J-clips from the hard back panel.
3. Separate and remove the outer pivot cover on the inboard side of the seat.
4. If equipped, disconnect the heater mat electrical connector.
5. Remove the pivot bolt.
6. NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat back trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip may be torn from the seat back foam.
Partially invert the backrest trim cover and remove the 2 recliner-to-backrest frame bolts.
7. Remove the backrest.
Installation
1. Position the backrest frame and hand start all bolts.
2. Install the backrest frame bolts in the following sequence.
1. Install the lower recliner-to-backrest frame bolt.
- Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
2. Install the upper recliner-to-backrest frame bolt.
- Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
3. Install the pivot bolt.
- Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
3. If equipped, connect the heater mat electrical connector.
4. Reposition the backrest trim cover over the 2 recliner-to-backrest frame bolts.
5. Attach the outer pivot cover on the inboard side of the seat.
6. Attach the 2 backrest trim cover inside J-clips to the hard back panel.
7. Attach the backrest trim cover lower J-clips.
