Normal Operation
The Parking Aid Module (PAM) sends and receives network messages over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) from the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) (part of the steering column). A fault condition occurs when the PSCM does not send an acknowledge exit message to the PAM indicating the EPAS system has exited the active park assist maneuvers.
This fault occurs while the operator is using the active park assist system and the system has control of the steering. During the failure, the operator should see the Instrument Cluster (IC) message center message "ACTIVE PARK FAULT" followed by an audible chime. - DTC B1304:68 (Electronic Power Assisted Steering System: Event Information) - sets when the PAM does not receive an acknowledge exit message from the PSCM.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- PSCM
- PAM
PINPOINT TEST F: B1304:68
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

F1 CHECK FOR RECORDED DTCs FROM BOTH THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND PSCM SELF-TESTS
- Check for recorded PSCM DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
- Are any PSCM DTCs recorded?
Yes
REFER to Steering System Testing and Inspection. REPAIR all PSCM DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to F2.

F2 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM OPERATION
- Disconnect the PAM connector.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the PAM connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to Parking Aid Service and Repair. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
