This article supersedes TSB 11-8-25 to update the Service Procedure.
ISSUE
Some 2010-2012 Expedition, Navigator vehicles
built on or before 9/26/2011 may exhibit a lack of or
Inoperative AC.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
NOTE
DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR ANY CONCERNS WITH
THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM BEFORE
PROCEEDING WITH THIS ARTICLE.
1. Identify the type of A/C system.
a. If the vehicle is equipped with dual zone automatic temperature control, proceed to Step 2.
b. If the vehicle is equipped with single zone temperature control, proceed to Step 3.
2. Reprogram the dual zone heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) module to the latest software calibration level using the IDS release 74.04 or higher. This new calibration is not included the VCM 2011.7 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
3. Replace the single zone HVAC module as vehicles equipped with single zone manual temperature control cannot be reprogrammed. Refer to WSM, Section 412-01.
