Principles of Operation

NOTE: The Smart Junction Box (SJB) is also known as the Generic Electronic Module (GEM).

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) is integrated into the transmission. When the transmission is in REVERSE (R), the TCM energizes a relay (located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB)) which supplies voltage to the reversing lamps.
