Output Shaft Seal - Slip Yoke
Removal
1. Remove the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to Driveshaft Diagrams.
2. Using the Torque Converter Fluid Seal Remover and the Slide Hammer, remove the output shaft seal.
Installation
1. Clean any debris from the extension housing that may have been left when the seal was removed.
2. Using the Output Shaft Seal Installer and the Drive Pinion Oil Seal Remover/Installer, install the output shaft seal.
3. Install the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to Driveshaft Diagrams.
4. Start the engine. Move the selector lever through all gear ranges while checking for engagements to allow the main control hydraulic circuits to fill with transmission fluid.
5. NOTICE: The use of any transmission fluid other than specified may result in the transmission failing to operate in a normal manner or transmission failure.
Using the scan tool with the engine running, check and make sure the transmission is at normal operating temperature 82-93°C (180-200°F). Check and adjust the transmission fluid level and check for any leaks. If transmission fluid is needed, add transmission fluid in increments of 0.24L (0.5 pt) until the correct level is achieved.
