Quarter Trim Panel
Removal and Installation
All vehicles
1. Position aside the liftgate weatherstrip.
2. Remove the liftgate scuff plate pin-type retainers.
3. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel before installing.
Remove the liftgate scuff plate.
- Pull upward to release the retaining clips.
4. Remove the C-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to C-Pillar Trim Panel C-Pillar Trim Panel.
5. Remove the D-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to D-Pillar Trim Panel D-Pillar Trim Panel.
6. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the scuff plate trim panel before installing.
NOTICE: To avoid damage to the scuff plate trim panel, remove the S-clips from the scuff plate trim panel and attach them to the door flange in the notches.
Remove the rear door scuff plate trim panel.
- Pull upward on the scuff plate trim panel to release the retaining clips.
7. Remove the quarter trim panel retaining screw.
8. Position the second row seats in the flat position and then tilt the second row seats forward.
9. Position the third row seats in the flat position.
10. Remove the cargo net retaining hooks.
Vehicles with a power liftgate
11. Remove the power liftgate rod retaining nut cover.
12. Remove the power liftgate rod retaining nut.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
13. Remove the power liftgate rod from the liftgate.
14. Remove the power liftgate rod cover.
- Pull the power liftgate rod cover outward to release the power liftgate rod cover clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
15. Position the liftgate rod to the full down position.
16. Remove the quarter trim panel.
- Pull the quarter trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.
- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Maneuver the quarter trim panel over the third row seat and over the power liftgate rod.
Vehicles without a power liftgate
17. Remove the quarter trim panel.
- Pull the quarter trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.
- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connectors.
All vehicles
18. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the quarter trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the quarter trim panel before installing.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
