Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly - 4.0L













Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

2. Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging.

3. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet tube. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering [1][2]Diagrams.

4. Disconnect the pressure cutoff switch electrical connector.

5. Remove the nut and position the wire harness aside.





6. Remove the condenser inlet fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.
- Discard the O-ring seal.

- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

7. Disconnect the suction accumulator outlet fitting.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

8. Loosen the A/C compressor manifold bolt and detach compressor manifold and tube assembly.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).

9. Remove the compressor manifold and tube assembly bracket nut.

10. Remove the compressor manifold and tube assembly.

11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals.

- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Refrigerant Oil Adding.

12. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging.
