Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair
Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud - 2.0L GTDI
Removal and Installation
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Service and Repair.

3. Remove the LH transmission fluid tube bracket bolt and the 2 lower cooling fan bolts.
1. To install, tighten the lower cooling fan bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
2. To install, tighten the LH transmission fluid tube bracket bolt to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
4. Remove the ACL (Air Cleaner) housing.
5. Disconnect the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and the cooling fan electrical connectors.
6. NOTE: Wiring harness with block heater harness shown, without block heater harness similar.
Detach the 3 wiring harness retainers and position the wiring harness aside.
7. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the CAC (Charge Air Cooler) -to-Throttle Body (TB) hose from the CAC (Charge Air Cooler).
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
8. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
9. Loosen the RH transmission fluid tube bracket bolt, open the retaining clip and detach the transmission fluid tube.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
10. Remove the bolt and position the transmission fluid cooler aside.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
11. Remove the bolts and the cooling fan and shroud assembly.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
13. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Service and Repair.
