Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement

Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L)


Tools Required
* J 25033-C Pulley Installer
* J 25034-C Pulley Remover



Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine coolant fan upper shroud,
2. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to one of the following:

* For 4.3L engine, refer toDrive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* For 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines, refer toDrive Belt Replacement - Accessory () .





3. Use removerJ 25034-C to remove the power steering pump pulley.



Installation Procedure





1. Place the power steering pump pulley on the end of the power steering pump shaft.
2. Install the power steering pump pulley using installerJ 25033-C .




3. Ensure that the power steering pump pulley (1) is flush against the power steering pump shaft (2) with an allowable variance of 0.25 mm (0.010 in).
4. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to one of the following:

* For 4.3L engine, refer toDrive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
* For 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines, refer toDrive Belt Replacement - Accessory () .

5. Install the engine coolant fan upper shroud, if equipped.
