SRS - Warning Lamp ON/No DTC's Set

SYMPTOM
The SRS indicator is on, and no DTCs are stored in the SRS unit. The light goes out with the next key cycle.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The SRS control unit enters a manufacturing test mode.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Install the SRS light harness kit.

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system (if equipped), and then write down the customer's preset radio stations.
2. Remove the left and right center pillar trim panels:
^ Refer to page 20-58 of the 1999-04 Odyssey Service Manual.
^ In ISIS, enter keyword INTERIOR TRIM, and select Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Door Area from the list.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then wait at least 3 minutes before continuing with work.
5. Disconnect the driver's and passenger's seat belt tensioner 2P connectors:
^ Refer to page 23-30 of the 1999-04 Odyssey Service Manual.
^ In ISIS, enter keyword PRECAUTION, and select SRS Precautions and Procedures from the list.
6. Disconnect the driver's airbag 4P connector.
7. Disconnect the passenger's airbag 4P connector.
8. Disconnect the driver's and passenger's side airbag 2P connectors, if equipped.
9. Remove the driver's heater lower cover.
10. Disconnect the SRS floor harness from the SRS main harness at connector C851. Leave the male side of connector C851 attached to connector C852.
11. Connect the new SRS light harness to the female side of the SRS main harness connector C851, and wrap the connector with the EPT sealer provided in the kit.
12. Connect the other side of the new SRS light harness to the male side of SRS floor harness connector C851.
13. Position and route the new harness so it lies on top of the existing harness.
14. Install four wire ties as shown:
^ Make sure the harnesses are not touching the SRS ground terminal G851.
^ Make sure the harnesses are not touching the SRS control unit.
^ Make sure there is a minimum of 20 mm clearance between the SRS light harness and the A" shift cable.
15. Trim off the ends of all four wire ties.
16. Reinstall the driver's heater lower cover.
17. Reconnect the driver's airbag 4P connector.
18. Reconnect the passenger's airbag 4P connector.
