P0773
DTC P0773: Problem in Shift Solenoid Valve E CircuitNOTE: Record all freeze data and review General Troubleshooting Information before you troubleshoot.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
3. Disconnect PCM connectors A (31P) and C (22P).
4. Reconnect the battery negative terminal.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
6. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminals C3 and A23 or A24.
Is there voltage?
YES - Repair short to power in the wire between PCM connector terminal C3 and shift solenoid valve E.
NO - Go to step 7.
7. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
8. Disconnect the shift solenoid harness connector at the transmission housing.
9. Check for continuity between PCM connector terminals C3 and A23 or A24.
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair short to ground in the wire between PCM connector terminal C3 and the shift solenoid harness connector.
NO - Go to step 10.
10. Connect the shift solenoid harness connector.
11. Measure the resistance between PCM connector terminals C3 and A23 or A24.
Is there 12 - 25 Ohms?
YES - Check the terminal fit at PCM connector terminal C3. If the connection is OK, update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM.
NO - Go to step 12.
12. Disconnect the shift solenoid harness connector.
13. Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C3 and the No. 3 terminal of the shift solenoid harness connector.
Is there continuity?
YES - Check shift solenoid valve E, and check for an open in the shift solenoid harness in the transmission.
NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminal C3 and the shift solenoid harness connector.
