Rear Door Panel: Service and Repair

Rear Door Panel Removal/Installation

Special Tools Required
- KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
- Trim pad remover. Snap-on A 177A or equivalent, commercially available

* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program

NOTE:
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to scratch the door and related parts.

1. Lower the glass fully.




2. Pull back the upper portion of the door quarter inner trim (A) to detach the clip.




3. Release the hooks (A), then remove the door quarter inner trim (B) to detach the clip.




4. Pull back the inner handle knob (A). Using a trim tool, push on the lower hook (B) and pivot the cover (C) on the upper hooks (D), then remove the cover.




5. Remove the screws and inner handle (A) to release the hooks (B, C), then disconnect the inner handle cable (D).




6. Remove the screw from under the pull pocket lid (A).
7. Remove the door panel (A) with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it.
1. Use a commercially available trim pad remover to detach the clips.
2. Starting at the rear, pull the door panel upward, then release the lock knob (B).






NOTE: To avoid damaging components inside the door, do not use excessive force when lifting up on the panel.




8. Disconnect the courtesy light bulb socket (A) and the power window switch connector (B).
9. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Check if the clips is damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and that the cable and the courtesy light bulb socket are connected properly.
- Make sure the window and power door lock operate properly.
