Immobilizer Indicator Does Not Go Off




Symptom Troubleshooting: Immobilizer indicator does not go off

Immobilizer indicator does not go off

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Connect the HDS to the data link connector.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and follow the prompts to the MAIN MENU.

4. At the MAIN MENU enter the IMMOBILIZER, then select the IMMOBILIZER SET UP.

5. Do the SYSTEM CHECK with the HDS.

Is N-1 OK indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Substitute a known-good immobilizer control unit-receiver, then register it and recheck. If the symptom goes away, replace the original immobilizer control unit-receiver.


6. Disconnect the immobilizer control unit-receiver 7P connector, disconnect gauge control module connector C (20P) and check for continuity to ground at terminal No. 5 of the immobilizer control unit-receiver.

Is there continuity to ground?
YES - Repair the short to ground on the BLU/ORN (IMOLMP) wire.

NO - Replace the gauge control module.
