Rear Bumper Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Tailgate Weatherstrip As Needed





1. Detach the tailgate weatherstrip (A) as needed.

2. Rear Splash Guard (For Some Models) - Both Sides

Left side





Right side





1. Remove the screws (A) and the clip (B), then remove the rear splash guards (C).

3. Rear Wheel Arch Protector Rear Side As Needed - Both Sides









NOTE: Repeat on the opposite side.

1. Remove the screws (A) and the clip (B) securing the rear wheel arch protector (C).

2. Carefully pry out the clip portions of the wheel arch protector with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips (D, E), then detach the wheel arch protector rear side as needed.

3. Put a shop towel (F) in the opening between the rear wheel arch protector and the rear fender.

4. Rear Bumper





1. Remove the caps (A), then remove the bolts (B).

2. Remove the bolts (C), the screws (D), and the clips (E, F) securing the rear bumper (G).





3. Pull out the rear bumper (A) from the side spacer (B). Repeat this step on the opposite side.





4. With the help of an assistant, pull out the rear bumper (A) from the side bracket (B). Repeat this step on the opposite side.





5. With the help of an assistant, remove the rear bumper (A).

5. Rear Bumper Absorber





1. For some models: Remove the rear bumper absorber (A).

Installation

1. Rear Bumper Absorber





1. For some models: Install the rear bumper absorber (A).

2. Rear Bumper





1. With the help of an assistant, install the rear bumper (A).





2. With the help of an assistant, install the rear bumper (A) to the side bracket (B). Repeat this step on the opposite side.





3. Install the rear bumper (A) to the side spacer (B). Repeat this step on the opposite side.





4. Install the bolts (A, B), the screws (C), and the clips (D, E) securing the rear bumper (F), then install the caps (G).

3. Rear Wheel Arch Protector Rear Side As Needed - Both Sides





1. Install the rear wheel arch protector (A), then install the screws (B) and the clip (C). Make sure the clips (D, E) snap into place securely. Repeat this step on the opposite side.

4. Rear Splash Guard (For Some Models) - Both Sides

Left side





Right side





1. Install the rear splash guards (A), then install the screws (B) and the clip (C). Make sure the clips snap into place securely.

5. Tailgate Weatherstrip As Needed





1. Locate the alignment mark (A) of the tailgate weatherstrip (B). Align the alignment mark with the center of the lower area on the tailgate opening, then install the tailgate weatherstrip all the way around.
