Rear Seat-Back Frame Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Steps 6-11 show removing the left side, steps 12-16 show removing the right side.

1. Tonneau Cover (For Some Models)





1. Remove the tonneau cover (A).

2. Cargo Floor Cover





1. Remove the cargo floor cover (A).

3. Rear Damper Maintenance Cover





1. Fold down the rear seat-back.

2. Pull up the rear damper maintenance cover (A) by hand to detach the hooks (B), then remove the rear damper maintenance cover.

4. Rear Seat Foot Cover

Left Side





Right Side





1. Pull up the rear seat foot cover (A) by hand to detach the clips (B).

2. Detach the hooks (C), then remove the rear seat foot cover.

5. Rear Seat-Back





1. Detach the rear seat-back arrange control cable (A) from the cable bracket (B).

2. Detach the cable clip (C), then disconnect the seat-back arrange control cable from the rear seat cushion foot (D).

Left Side





Right Side





3. Pull up the edge of seat-back cover (A), then detach the clips (B).

4. Left Side: Remove the mounting bolts (C), then remove the rear seat-back (D).

5. Right Side: Remove the mounting bolts (C) and the anchor bolt (D), then remove the rear seat-back (E).

6. Rear Seat Head Restraint - Left Side





Left Rear Head Restraint

1. Push a flat-tip screwdriver into the notch at the center of the knob (A) to release the tab (B).





2. Insert a 5 mm (0.2 in) thickness flat-tip screwdriver in one side of the notch on both sides of the knob (A), then the knob is moved out about 2 mm (0.08 in).

3. Push and hold the knob (B), then pull out the headrest restraint (C) as shown.





Center Rear Head Restraint

1. Push and hold the knob (A), then pull out the headrest restraint (B) as shown.

7. Rear Seat Armrest





1. Release the tab (A), then slide the armrest side cover (B) forward.

2. Remove the bolt (C) with a 5 mm hex wrench.





3. Slide the armrest (A) toward the left side.

4. Remove the right pivot shaft (B) from the friction plate (C).





5. Slide the armrest (A) toward the right side.

6. Release the left pivot shaft (B) from the collar (C).

7. Pull up the armrest, then pull out the armrest shaft (D) from the rear seat-back frame (E), then remove the armrest.





8. Remove the collar (A), the inner friction plate (B), and the outer friction plate (C) from the rear seat-back frame.

8. Rear Seat-Back Latch Cover - Left Side





1. Detach the clips (A) securing the latch cover (B), and pull out the cover to detach the hooks (C).

9. Rear Seat-Back Cover - Left Side





1. Release the hooks (A), then remove the tether anchor cover (B).









2. Release the hooks (A), then pull up the armrest back panel (B).

3. Remove the armrest back panel from the hook strip (C).





4. Remove the screw (A), while pulling the lock knob out (B).

5. Pull out the lock knob trim (C).





6. Detach the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (A) from the cable bracket (B).

7. Disconnect the rear seat-back lock knob control cable from the lock knob trim (C).





8. Release the hooks (A) on the strap cover (B).





9. Remove the bolt (A) with a 6 mm hex wrench.

10. Remove the washer (B), the left rear seat inner pivot (C), and bushing (D).





11. Release the hooks (A), then remove the covers (B) from the left rear seat inner pivot (C).





12. Release the hook strips (A) from the rear seat-back frame (B).

13. Release the hook and loop fastener (C).





14. Remove the push nut (A), then disconnect the rear seat-back cancel control cable (B) from the left rear seat cushion pivot (C).

15. Pull out the rear seat arrange control cable (D) through the hole (E) in the rear seat-back cover (F).





16. Release the hooks (A).

17. Release the hook and loop fastener (B).





18. Detach the rear seat-back cover (A) from the hooks (B) of the rear seat-back inner trim (C).





19. Unzip the rear seat-back cover (A).

20. Release the hook strip (B).





21. Pinch the tabs (A) on the end of the head restraint guides (B), and remove the guides from the rear seat-back frame.





22. Detach the clip (A) from the rear seat-back frame (B), then remove the seat-back cover/pad (C).

23. While pulling back the rear seat-back cover (A), release the upholstery rings (B), then remove the rear seat-back cover.

10. Rear Seat-Back Latch - Left Side





1. Detach the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (A) and the rear seat-back lock control cable (B) from the cable bracket (C).

2. Disconnect the rear seat-back lock knob control cable and the rear seat-back lock control cable from the rear seat-back latch (D).

3. Remove the bolts (E), then remove the rear seat-back latch.

11. Rear Seat Back Frame - Left Side





1. Remove the bolts (A, B), then remove the left rear seat-back outer pivot (C).





2. Release the hooks (A), then remove the rear seat-back inner trim (B).

3. Remove the screw (C) and the hooks (D), then remove the seat-back head restraint protector (E).





4. Remove the screws (A), then remove the rear seat-back outer cover (B).





5. Release the tabs (A), then remove the rear seat-back lower cover (B).

6. Remove the screw (C), then remove the rear seat-back inner cover (D).





7. Release the tab (A), then remove the rear seat-back lower cover (B).

8. Release the hooks (C), then remove the rear seat-back cancel cover (D).





9. Remove the screw (A) and release the hooks (B), then remove the head restraint strap (C).

10. Remove the nuts (D), then remove the rear seat-back head restraint frame (E).

11. Detach the head restraint control cable (F) from the bracket (G).

12. Disconnect the head restraint control cable from the bracket (H).





13. Remove the wire tie (A).





14. Remove the nuts (A), then remove the rear seat-back arrange unit (B).

15. Detach the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C) from the bracket (D).

16. Detach the cable clips (E).





17. Detach the rear seat-back head restraint control cable (A), the rear seat-back lock control cable (B), the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C), and the rear seat-back arrange control cable (D) from the cable bracket (E), then disconnect the cables from the rear seat-back arrange unit (F).

12. Rear Seat Head Restraint - Right Side





1. Push a flat-tip screwdriver into the notch at the center of the knob (A) to release the tab (B).

13. Rear Seat-Back Latch Cover - Right Side





1. Detach the clips (A) securing the latch cover (B), and pull out the cover to detach the hooks (C).

14. Rear Seat-Back Cover - Right Side





1. Release the hooks (A), then remove the tether anchor cover (B).





2. Remove the screw (A), while pulling the lock knob out (B).

3. Pull out the lock knob trim (C).





4. Detach the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (A) from the cable bracket (B).

5. Disconnect the rear seat-back lock knob control cable from the lock knob trim (C).





6. Release the hooks (A) on the strap cover (B).





7. Remove the bolt (A) with a 6 mm hex wrench.

8. Remove the washer (B), the left rear seat inner pivot (C), and bushing (D).





9. Release the hooks (A), then remove the covers (B) from the left rear seat inner pivot (C).





10. Remove the push nut (A), then disconnect the rear seat-back cancel control cable (B) from the left rear seat cushion pivot (C).

11. Pull out the rear seat arrange control cable (D) through the hole (E) in the rear seat-back cover (F).





12. Release the hooks (A).

13. Release the hook and loop fastener (B).





14. Detach the rear seat-back cover (A) from the hooks (B) of the rear seat-back inner trim (C).





15. Unzip the rear seat-back cover (A).

16. Release the hook strip (B).





17. Detach the clip (A) from the rear seat-back frame (B), then remove the seat-back cover/pad (C).

18. While pulling back the rear seat-back cover (A), release the upholstery rings (B), then remove the rear seat-back cover.

15. Rear Seat-Back Latch - Right Side





1. Detach the rear seat-back lock knob control cable (A) and the rear seat-back lock control cable (B) from the cable bracket (C).

2. Disconnect the rear seat-back lock knob control cable and the rear seat-back lock control cable from the rear seat-back latch (D).

3. Remove the bolts (E), then remove the rear seat-back latch.

16. Rear Seat-Back Frame - Right Side





1. Remove the bolts (A, B), then remove the right rear seat-back outer pivot (C).





2. Release the hooks (A), then remove the rear seat-back inner trim (B).

3. Remove the screw (C) and hooks (D), then remove the seat-back head restraint protector (E).





4. Release the tab (A), then remove the rear seat-back lower cover (B).

5. Remove the screw (C), then remove the rear seat-back inner cover (D).





6. Release the tab (A), then remove the rear seat-back lower cover (B).

7. Release the hooks (C), then remove the rear seat-back cancel cover (D).





8. Remove the screw (A) and release the hooks (B), then remove the head restraint strap (C).

9. Remove the nuts (D), then remove the rear seat-back head restraint frame (E).

10. Detach the head restraint control cable (F) from the bracket (G).

11. Disconnect the head restraint control cable from the bracket (H).





12. Remove the wire tie (A).





13. Remove the nuts (A), then remove the rear seat-back arrange unit (B).

14. Detach the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C) from the bracket (D).

15. Detach the cable clips (E).





16. Detach the rear seat-back head restraint control cable (A), the rear seat-back lock control cable (B), the rear seat-back cancel control cable (C), and the rear seat-back arrange control cable (D) from the cable bracket (E), then disconnect the cables from the rear seat-back arrange unit (F).





17. Remove the rear seat-back damper (A) from the rear seat-back frame (B).
