Center Sliding Door Rail: Service and Repair




Sliding Door Center Rail Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body.
- Use seat covers to avoid damaging any surfaces.

1. Remove these items:

- Sliding door Sliding Door Removal/Installation
- Rear side trim panel Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area
- Second row seat belt retractor Second Row Seat Belt Replacement
- Right side: Rear HVAC unit Rear HVAC Unit Removal/Installation

2. Manual sliding door: Remove the center roller (A) from the center rail.






3. Remove the center rail cover (A).

1. Remove the screw (B) and the bolts (C).

2. Slide the center rail cover rearward. The clips (D) will stay in the body.

3. Remove the clips from the body by turning them 45°.





4. Install the clips on the center rail cover.

5. Power sliding door: Remove the center roller Service and Repair.

6. Remove the nuts from inside of the vehicle.






7. Remove the center rail (A).






8. If necessary, remove the center rail grommet (A) and center rail seals (B).






9. Power sliding door: If necessary, remove the center rail cable guide (A).






10. Install the center rail in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips for the center rail cover are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Take care to tighten the front nut of the center rail first, before tightening any other nuts.
- Clean the groove area of the center rail (A). Apply multipurpose grease to the corner area of the sliding door, as shown.
