RES disc does not play
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the RES.
- CD-R/RWs and DVD-R/RWs will not work in the DVD player (built into the audio-navigation unit or audio unit).
- Damaged or contaminated discs may not always play properly.
- Discs with labels should not be used in the DVD player (built into the audio-navigation unit or audio unit). They may damage the player mechanism.
- You need to switch the audio-navigation unit or audio unit REAR PWR button on for the rear display, remote controls, and sound to operate.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Try loading a DVD. If the disc does not load, go to RES disc does not load troubleshooting RES Disc Does Not load.
Does the DVD play (display properly and sound normal)?
YES -
Intermittent failure, the DVD player (built into the audio-navigation unit or audio unit) is OK at this time.
NO -
Go to step 3.
3. Insert a known-good DVD.
Does the DVD play (display properly and sound normal)?
YES -
The original DVD is faulty or is an unreadable format.
NO -
Go to step 4.
4. Do the Self-Diagnostic Function, then select function number 1 for Connect of the rear entertainment system.
Is the audio-navigation unit or audio unit connect condition OK?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Repair the poor connection in the audio-navigation unit or audio unit connectors.
5. Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation or audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck.
Is the sound normal?
YES -
- With navigation: Replace the original audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.
- Without navigation: Replace the original audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation.
NO -
Check for loose wires or poor connections at audio-navigation unit or audio unit connectors, and recheck.
