Rattle Sound Coming From Under the Vehicle Reposition Transmission Oil Cooler Lines

Affected Vehicles

2003-2004 Isuzu Ascender models equipped with 4.2L engines (VIN S - RPO LL8)

Service Information

Condition:

Some customers may comment on a rattle type sound coming from under the vehicle.

Possible Cause:

This condition may be caused by one of the transmission oil cooler lines making contacting with the exhaust catalytic converter.

Correction:

Reposition the transmission oil cooler lines.

Service Procedure

Raise the vehicle and carefully reposition the transmission oil cooler line(s) to provide 10 mm (0.393 in) clearance between the exhaust catalytic converter and the line. Replace the transmission oil cooler line if any damage is present.
