FRONTWARNING: TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, AIRBAG, OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM, SEAT BELT TENSIONER, IMPACT SENSOR, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flatbladed tool, gently pry the edges of the escutcheon
3. for the front park assist display (2) away from the top of the instrument panel (4) far enough to disengage the latch features on the escutcheon from the opening in the instrument panel top pad.
3. Pull the escutcheon and the display away from the instrument panel as a unit far enough to access and disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the connector receptacle (1) on the bottom of the display housing.
4. Using hand pressure, push firmly and evenly on the bottom of the display housing to disengage the snap clips on the housing from the opening in the escutcheon.
INSTALLATION
1. Align the bottom of the front park assist display (2) housing with the opening in the escutcheon (3).
2. Using hand pressure, push firmly and evenly on the lens of the display housing to engage the snap clips on the housing into the opening in the escutcheon.
3. Position the escutcheon and the display to the opening in the instrument panel top pad (4) as a unit to access and reconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector to the connector receptacle (1) on the bottom of the display housing.
4. Using hand pressure, push firmly and evenly on the top of the display lens to engage the latch features on the escutcheon into the opening in the instrument panel top pad.
5. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
