Gearshift Knob - Removal

REMOVAL

NOTE: Most shift knobs can be remove by hand. The motion should mimic that of a slide hammer. Constant force doesn't aid in the removal of the knob.





1. Slide the shift lever (4) back towards the seat and pull the shift knob (3) in an upward motion with a "quick" snap to remove.





2. If removal of the shift knob (3) by hand is not possible wrap a shop towel (4) or equivalent around the base of the shift knob (3) and using puller or equivalent (2) and slide hammer (1), remove the shift knob (3) from the shift lever.
